Then followed a course of self-teaching in effects makeup with guidance from my employers, the Burman Studio in Van Nuys, and mentoring by Rick Baker and Dick Smith (two of the greatest makeup artists alive).

Music skills were studied with private teachers, band classes, at College of San Mateo and other colleges and through self-study. Show Biz Background:

I have appeared as performer on tape and live TV (Creature Features, etc.) and at live events for Earth Circus (www.earthcircus.com), and in documentaries, been a singer-songwriter since I was 15. Most recently I was on Ian Butler’s LAUGH LOCALLY TV show last Halloween. I’ve created masks and done professional makeup since the late ‘60’s. I traveled the USA doing paid makeup demonstrations at Star Trek conventions and as pro bono, creating injury simulations for the American Society of Trauma Specialists. Recently I was the pit guitarist for Peninsula Youth Theater’s ANYTHING GOES. A musical I wrote was performed in Hollywood in 1993. Currently I work as a restaurant musician on guitar, voice and keyboard.

Art & Life  From age 16 to 30 it was all monster makeup, rock bands, movies and special effects.

Then I spent 22 years in printing, while still performing and writing songs. Nowadays it’s all music performance, creation and instruction.
